RPK 23cm Russian Prison Knife Wood Dagger blade vintage automatic knife

Vintage RPK 23cm Russian Prison Knife Wood Dagger shaped blade automatic knife made in USSR, likely in a penal colony in between 1960 and 1980 by an inmate. The inmates were allowed to make knives to be sold to generate extra revenue for the facility. Most are one-of-a-kind pieces and they're a lot of fun to collect! This knife measures 23cm (9 inches) open and 4 7/8 inches closed with steel frame and button. The unusual dagger shaped blade is actually hollow ground and looks to be full with original finish with some scratches and no markings. The scales are wood with a hand done pattern and the frame and button have some rust and the blade is fired by a coil spring. The knife functions well with the blade tip deep in the well closed, smooth opening and excellent lockup open. VG- condition.
