This is another vintage RPK (Russian Prison Knife) direct from Russia. These were made by inmates to be sold to the public to raise money for the prisons in the 1970s and 80s, I believe. I'm still researching it. These knives are all one-of-a-kind pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art and they are a lot of fun to collect and make wonderful wall display pieces. They can be found in all shapes and sizes and so far I haven't found any two exactly alike. This knife has black scales with waffle pattern and spike blade. It measures a little over 22cm (8 3/4") open with aluminum liners. The saber grind spike blade appears to be full and shiny with some pitting one the tip and the backside of the blade. Press button to open and pry locking tab with thumbnail to release blade to close. It takes a little practice. The knife works well with the blade tip just above the liners closed, strong snap and Tight lockup! VG condition.
