RPK 22cm Russian Prison Knife Spike blade Coil spring vintage switchblade

RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage black & silver Spike blade switchblade knife. It is believed that these knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1950s through the 1970s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons and given by prison personnel as bribes and gifts. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 22.1cm (8 3/4 inches) open and 4 3/4 inches closed with polished aluminum liners & bolsters with steel button. The saber ground straight back blade is spike shaped and appears to be 100% full or better with original finish with no markings and a few light scratches. Dark brown synthetic scales (handles) in great condition. The knife works well with the blade tip just below liners when closed, smooth strong snap and tight lockup when open. No rattle if shaken with blade open. It is button open button close. No safety. EX+ condition.
