RPK 22cm Russian Prison Knife Manual opening decorative knife. These knives were made by inmates of USSR prisons between mid 1940s and 1980s to be sold, or traded, mostly by the guards. This knife is not automatic. Pull blade open and it locks. Push lever to lift backspring to close. It measures 22cm (8 1/2 inches) open with steel frame. The straight back saber blade appears to be nearly full with some engraving that ties in with the bolsters. The two tone plastic scales are in good condition with scratches from handling. Works well, blade locks open. VG+ condition.
