RPK 22cm Russian Prison Knife All metal curved Gunstock switchblade

RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage curved Gunstock switchblade knife, all metal. It is believed that these knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1950s through the 1970s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons and given by prison personnel as bribes and gifts. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 22cm (8 5/8 inches) open with a steel frame and bolster plates and brass screw for button. The long clip saber grind blade is mostly full and has some scratches from sharpening and no markings. The curved gunstock shaped scales are magnetic steel and in good condition. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth strong snap and fair lockup when open with about 1/8" up and down. Does not rattle if shaken when open. The blade is activated by sliding the brass screw button and is closed the same way. Very cool vintage Russian RPK gunstock swing guard switchblade. VG- condition.
