RPK 21cm Vintage Russian Prison Knife All metal engraved switchblade

RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage switchblade knife. It is believed that these knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1950s through the 1970s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons and given by prison personnel as bribes and gifts. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 20.8cm (8 3/8 inches) open with a non magnetic metal engraved frame. The saber grind straight back blade appears to be mostly full and has all of the original finish with no markings. The one piece engraved body is very attractive and in great condition with light scratches. As with most RPKs there are access plates held on by screws that let you access the mechanism for repair/adjustment. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep and centered in the well when closed, smooth strong snap and very good lockup when open with less than 1/32" movement at the tip. Does not rattle if shaken when opne. It is button open, button close with a sliding button. Very cool vintage Russian RPK switchblade. EX+ condition.
