RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage Gunstock Swing Guard switchblade knife. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 21cm (8 inches) open with a steel frame, bolsters and swing guards. The hollow ground clip blade is full and has all of the original finish with no markings. The gunstock shaped scales are a deep cherry swirl synthetic and are in nice condition and very attractive. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth strong snap and Tight lockup when open. The blade is activated by pressing the rectangular button and is closed with a backspring release. Very cool vintage Russian RPK gunstock swing guard switchblade.
