Vintage Russian RPK (Russian Prison Knife) switchblade. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They were all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 21cm (8.25 inches) open with steel liners/frame and aluminum bolster plates. The saber grind drop point blade is full and shiny. Ebony inserts in the steel frame, overall good condition with hole near the back for lanyard ring. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth snap and super tight lockup when open. Button slides to open and to release blade to close. EX+ condition.
