RPK 20cm Coilspring Leg Knife Brass & Aluminum engraved vintage automatic knife

Unmarked RPK (Russian Prison Knife) 20cm Coilspring Leg Knife Brass & Aluminum engraved vintage automatic knife that came direct from Russia. These are believed to have been made by inmates to be sold to the public to raise money for the prisons in the 1950s to the 80s. These knives are all one-of-a-kind hand made pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art and they are a lot of fun to collect and make wonderful wall display pieces. They can be found in all shapes and sizes and so far we haven't found any two exactly alike. This one is shaped like a Leg and it measures 19.4cm (7 5/8 inches) open and about 4 3/8 inches closed with thick brass liners/backspring and Aluminum bolsters held on with screws for access to service the knife. The straight back blade is mostly full with patina & scratches. The scales (handles) and backstrap are one piece of thick brass and nicely engraved. The bolsters are aluminum and also engraved. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep closed, good snap and excellent lockup with a little movement. Button slides to open knife and to release the blade to close.
