RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage Gunstock Swing Guard switchblade knife. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 19cm (7.5 inches) open with a steel frame and button. The saber grind fat clip clip blade is nearly full and has all of the original finish with some light scratches a little peppering and no markings. The scales are deep green, almost black synthetic material and are in nice condition with handling marks. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth strong snap and good lockup when open with a little movement each way and does not rattle if shaken when open. The blade is activated by sliding the button and is released to close the same way. Very cool vintage Russian RPK gunstock swing guard switchblade. EX condition.
