Vintage RPK Russian Prison Knife scale release switchblade knife. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold or given as gifts or bribes. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 14.5cm (5.75 inches) open with a brass frame. The straight back blade is mostly full and has some scratches. The black plastic scales are in fair condition. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth snap and decent lockup when open with a little movement each way, but does not rattle if shaken when open. The blade is activated by pressing/sliding the edge of the front scale near the front of the knife. Also releases the blade to close. Cool little Russian scale release automatic. VG condition
