RPK 10cm Russian Prison Knife Fish colorful keychain automatic knife
RPK 10cm Russian Prison Knife Fish colorful keychain automatic knife. Between the mid 1940s and 1980s some inmates of Russian prisons made automatic knives that were sold and given away as bribes and gifts by guards and prison staff. These wonderful old pieces of Russian cutlery folk art are all one-of-a-kinds and a joy to collect. This one measures 10cm (3.75 inches) open with steel frame and button. The blade appears to be nearly full and shiny with some light scratches and minor imperfections. The frame is shaped like a fish with a large tail and has a 3 dimensional fish decoration under clear acrylic on both sides of the knife. It works well, with blade tip seating deep, good snap and locks open, but not strong lock. Blade kicks back when opening most of the time so you have to push it into full open position. VG+ condition.
