Vintage ROLL-X SARCO folder made by Tak Fukuta in Seki, Japan for Sarco/Edge Co. circa 1980s. It measures 21.6cm (8.5 inches) open and 4.75 inches closed with brass liners and nickel silver bolsters, release & pins. The clip point blade is 100% full with all of the original factory finish intact and the tang is stamped ROLL-X SARCO on the front and 440 STAINLESS on the backside. This is a manual action knife and requires the blade thumb stud to be rolled/pushed around to the locked open position. To unlock and close the blade, the same stud must be pushed forward and around. This is an innovative locking mechanism that has origins in Italy circa 1960s. It has a stainless steel blade and buffalo horn handle. Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse and this knife is likely from that find. Definitely New Old Stock in like new condition. Really Nice knife!
