RIZZUTO STAINLESS STEEL 11 inch Swing guard Batwing White Vintage automatic knife made in the 1960s. These knives were used in a lot of movies from the 1960s through the 90s and are therefore very popular with switchblade & movie enthusiasts. This is the larger size, and less common white color. These knives were actually made in Japan in the 1960s and 70s mostly and were inspired by Italian switchblades of the era. They were very affordable which is probably why they were often used by movie prop departments. This knife measures 26cm (10 3/8 inches) open with steel liners, guards and bolsters and brass button and pins. Flat grind swedge blade is full with original factory finish and some light scratches and is stamped STAINLESS STEEL on the tang. Though not stamped Rizzuto Estiletto Milano, it was made by the same company around the same time as the ones that were marked that way. The white synthetic scales are in very nice condition. The knife works well with the blade tip seating below the liners closed, good snap and good lockup with typical slight up and down that springs back when you let go. Nice example of a vintage "Italian style" movie prop switchblade. The safety works. EX- condition.
