This is a Remington R2403 Hunter switchblade made under contract by the Geo Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT between 1937 and 1944. The knife measures 5 inches closed and 8 5/8" open with steel liners and bolsters and nickel silver button and safety. The blade is 97% full and still has the original Remington Master Knife etch with some scratches and a little spotting. These etches were pretty fragile and most didn't survive over the years. The bone scales are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep, good snap and locks open well with about 1/16 inch up and down at the tip with is better than average for these 70+ year old switchblades. Overall an excellent example of a vintage American hunter switchblade. Safety works. EX condition.
