Vintage Remington R2303 switchblade knife made under contract by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1938 and 1944. Pretty much the same knife as the Presto model 1000, but the bone jig pattern is different, they used copper beryllium springs and of course the tang is stamped Remington and the backside is stamped R2303. The knife measures 4 1/8 inches closed and 7 1/16 inches open and it has steel liners and bolsters with nickel silver button and safety cap. The blade is 96% full and shiny with some light scratches and faint peppering. The jigged bone scales are in excellent condition. The knife works properly with the blade tip seating deep & centered closed, good snap and average lockup when open with about 1/8" up and down at the tip. Does rattle if shaken with blade open as most of these do. Safety works. VG+ condition.
