RARE LL Bean 4 7/8" Hunter's Pride Jigged bone Vintage automatic knife

Vintage RARE LL Bean 4 7/8" Hunter's Pride Jigged bone automatic knife made by Schrade Cut Co for the Freeport, Maine company for LESS THAN ONE YEAR! LL Bean offered switchblade knives in their catalogs from 1937 to 1943, but this model was only offered in their 1939 Fall catalog, so not many of these knives were made! This is also the only Schrade hunter made with BRASS liners, most were steel. This is a very rare and hard to find vintage American switchblade. Also including an ORIGINAL FALL 1939 LL BEAN catalog featuring the knife!

The knife measures 4 7/8 inches closed and 8 5/8 inches open with BRASS liners and nickel silver bolsters, guards, button and safety. The clip blade is 97% full or better with patina and some light scratches and the tang is stamped LL BEAN FREEPORT ME on the front and US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 and JUNE 6, 16 on the reverse. The jigged bone scales (handles) are in excellent condition. The knife works great with blade tip deep and centered closed, nice snap and excellent lockup open with less than 1/16" movement at the tip. Safety works. VG+ condition.
