RARE CHALLENGE CUT CO Spearpoint Hunter Antique automatic knife made in Bridgeport, CT around 1920. This is an EARLY Flylock hunter, before they stamped them Flylock on the front of the tang. These early Challenge hunters are much less common than the later Flylock version and VERY FEW can be found with a spear point blade!
This knife measures 4 7/8 inches closed and 8 5/8 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters and button. The spear point blade is 100% full with original finish with some scattered specs and the tang is stamped CHALLENGE CUT CO B'PORT CONN on the front and FLY-LOCK US PAT MARCH 5, 1918 on the reverse. The scales (handles) are black synthetic wormgroove in excellent condition. The knife works great with blade tip deep and centered closed, nice snap and Tight lockup open! EX+ condition.
