RARE Antique Flylock Small Letter Opener White Gold 2 7/8" automatic knife

RARE Antique Flylock Small Letter Opener Silver 2 7/8" automatic knife made by the Flylock Knife Co a subsidiary of Challenge Cut Co in Bridgeport, CT between 1923 and 1928. These small size letter openers are very hard to find as opposed to the larger ones with 3 3/8" knife attached. This one measures 9 1/2 inches with blade open 7 13/16 inches with the blade closed and has nickel silver liners and nickel silver button. The spearpoint blade is 99% full and shiny with original finish and the tang is stamped Flylock REG US PAT and the backside reads FLYLOCK KNIFE CO B'PORT CT. The scales are 10k White Gold and are in great condition with no wear to the intricate designs & lines. One small impression on the front scale near the bottom, otherwise nearly perfect. The knife works great with blade tip deep and centered in the well, nice snap and excellent lockup with less than 1/32" movement at the tip. This knife is very near mint condition, but I'm going to call it EX++
