PRESTO Vintage Rare Small Stamp Hunter 3000 switchblade knife
PRESTO Vintage Rare Small Stamp Hunter 3000 switchblade knife
Vintage Presto Hunter switchblade with jigged bone scales. Made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1930 and 1940. This is one of the earliest hunters with the less common small PRESTO stamp. This knife measures 5 inches closed and 8 5/8 inches open with steel liners & bolsters and nickel silver button and safety. It was designated the model 3000 and was the largest switchblade made by the company. This one is in excellent condition with a nearly full blade with no major flaws. The blade is approximately 96% full and has some light scratches. Jigged bone scales (handles) are in excellent condition. Knife functions great with the blade tip seating deep, strong snap and locking up nicely with just a little up and down and slight side to side movement at the tip. It does rattle if shaken when open, as most of these nearly 100 year old hunters that have seen use do. This is a really nice example of a harder-to-find vintage Presto Small stamp hunter. Safety works. VG+ condition.
