PRESTO PAT JAN 30, 40 Bowtie #5500 Carmel Cream Swirl vintage automatic knife

Vintage Presto fishtail bowtie switchblade knife made by the Geo Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. This knife was designated the model #5500. It measures 4 inches closed and 7.25 inches open and 4 inches closed with brass liners and nickel silver bolsters, button, safeties & pins. The blade is marked PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T, CONN on the rear tang so it was made after 1940. The carbon steel clip blade is 99% full with and shiny, a very nice blade. The Caramel & cream swirl celluloid scales (handles) are in nice condition with no cracks and colors including tan, brown & cream. The knife works well with the blade tip below the liners when closed, good snap and good lockup open with about 1/8" up and down at the tip. Barely rattles if shaken with blade open. Safety works. EX condition.
