PRESTO M2 Military paratrooper black switchblade knife possibly WWII
Vintage PRESTO M2 Black Worm groove handles vintage switchblade knife likely issued near the end of WWII and later. This knife was made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It measures 4 1/8" closed and just under 7 inches open with steel liners, bolsters and lanyard ring, but nickel silver button and safety. The clip blade is mostly full (94%) and shiny with some light scratches and a little peppering. The knife is stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA front and GEO SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC BPT CONN rear. The scales are in good condition with no cracks or shrinkage, but there is a little warpage in the button/safety area and has bail (staple) to attach a cord. The knife works well with blade tip deep and centered, strong snap and good lockup with just a hint of up and down at the tip. Safety works. VG+ condition.
