Vintage PRESTO M2 WWII vintage bone handled automatic knife made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1946 most likely. It measures 4 1/8" closed and 7 1/8" open with steel liners & bail and nickel silver bolsters, button and safety. The blade is marked PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO SCHRADE over BRIDGEPORT over CONN on the rear. The clip point blade 99% full or better with light patina, some light scratches and a little peppering, overall a very nice blade. The dyed jigged bone scales are very nice with no cracks or chips with lanyard ring (staple). The knife works well with blade tip deep and centered closed, strong snap and excellent lockup open with just a hint of movement at the tip open. No rattle if shaken with blade open. Most likely issued to troops during WWII by the US government. Safety works. EX condition.
