Vintage PRESTO M2 WWII jigged bone handled automatic knife made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1930 and 1942. It measures 4 1/8" closed and 7 1/16 open with steel liners, bolsters, bail & button with nickel silver safety. The clip blade is marked PRESTO over PAT PEND-G on the front and G SCHRADE over B'PORT CT on the rear. Blade is 98% full with scratches and light pitting under a light patina. The scales are very nice dyed Jigged bone with no cracks or chips with lanyard ring (staple). The knife works well with blade tip deep and centered, strong snap and very good lockup with less than 1/16" movement at the tip. Does rattle if shaken with blade open. Safety works. EX condition.

Satisfied with my purchase....

WW2 era Presto. As advertised.
Blade is in great shape. No rattle when locked open.
Very sharp. Its a piece of history. Pricey, especially when you consider the original purchase price was around a dollar and 25 cents....
But its identical to what was issued to US Paratroopers.
Wether or not this one was issued and carried in the war, will
forever be a mystery. If it could talk!
Apple Valley knives is great! Fast shipping.
I'l most likely be back for more.
