PRESTO M2 WWII vintage bone handled automatic paratrooper knife made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1930 and 1941. It measures 4 1/8" closed and 7 1/8" open with steel liners, bolsters, bail & button and nickel silver safety. The blade is marked PRESTO over PAT PEND-G on the front and G. SCHRADE over B'PORT, CT on the rear. Blade is full with much of the original finish visible under a light patina with some light peppering and light spotting. Very nice blade! The scales are gorgeous dyed jigged bone with no cracks or chips with lanyard ring (staple). Some light rust on the backspring and lanyard ring. The knife works well with blade tip deep and centered in the well closed, strong snap and great lockup. Issued to troops during WWII by the US government, likely prior to, or early during the war. Safety works. EX condition.
