Vintage PRESTO M2 WWII vintage bone handled automatic knife made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1930 and 1941. It measures 4 1/8 inches closed and 7 inches open with steel liners, bolsters, bail & button with nickel silver safety. The clip blade is marked PRESTO over PAT PEND-G on the front and G. SCHRADE over B'PORT CT on the rear. Blade 97% full or better with light scratches and a little light peppering and has been lightly cleaned. The dyed jigged bone scales are very nice with no cracks or chips with lanyard ring (staple). The knife works well with blade tip deep and centered closed, strong snap and tight lockup. Does not rattle if shaken with blade open. Most likely issued to troops early in the war (before 1943) by the US government. Safety works. VG+ condition.
