PRESTO M2 WWII vintage bone handled automatic knife made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1930 and 1942. It measures 4 1/8" closed and 7 1/8" open with steel liners, bolsters, bail, & button with nickel silver safety. The blade is marked PRESTO PAT PEND-G on the front and G SCHRADE over B'PORT, CT on the rear. The clip point blade 98% full or better with patina and some light scratches, black marks and light spotting. The dyed jigged bone scales are very nice with no cracks or chips with lanyard ring (staple). The knife works well with blade tip deep and centered closed, strong snap and very good lockup with about 1/16" movement at the tip. Barely rattles if shaken with blade open. Most likely issued to troops during WWII by the US government. Safety works. VG+ condition.
