PRESTO M2 WWII vintage bone handled automatic knife made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1946. It measures 4 1/8" closed and 7" open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters, safety & button. The clip blade is 98% full and shiny with light scratches and some scattered spotting and the tang is stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA front and GEO SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'PT CONN rear. The scales are nice with no cracks or chips & held on with nickel silver pins with lanyard ring (staple) at the back (bottom). The knife works well with blade tip centered and even with the liners closed, strong snap and good lockup with less than 1/8" movement at the tip. Rattles if shaken with blade open. Issued to troops during WWII by the US government. Safety works. VG+ condition.
