Vintage PRESTO Model 8000 Hunter with Lazy W folding guards and brain wormgroove scales (handles) made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It measures 5 inches closed and 8 3/4 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters guards, button & safety. The clip blade is 100% full with all of the original finish intact with a couple of light scratches and small marks. The tang is marked PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T, CONN on the rear. The multi shaded brown scales, often referred to as "brain" with wormgroove pattern are in excellent condition. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep and centered closed, good snap, guards fly into position, and excellent lockup. Does not rattle if shaken when blade is open except for the guards. Safety works. (some would call this mint, but it's not) EX+ condition.
