PRESTO Lazy W Folding Guard Hunter Wormgroove switchblade knife

Nice old PRESTO Hunter with Lazy W folding guards. This knife was made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It was designated the model number 8000 and measures 5 inches closed and 8 5/8 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters, guards, button & safety. The blade is a 1/8" short, but otherwise full at approximately 96% and shiny with light scratches and a large pitted area on the backside. The blade tang is marked PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T, CONN on the rear. The multi shaded brown scales, often referred to as "brain" with wormgroove pattern are in excellent condition and very attractive. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep and centered in the well, good snap, guards fly into position, and very good lockup with almost no movement at the tip. Does not rattle if shaken when blade is open (except guards). Safety works. EX condition.
