PRESTO Lazy W Folding Guard Hunter #8000 Jigged bone switchblade knife made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It was designated the model number 8000 and measures 5 inches closed and 8 3/4 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters, guards, button and safety. The clip blade is 98% full or better with patina, spotting, scratches and some scattered pitting, but overall good blade. The tang is marked PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T, CONN on the rear. The jigged bone scales are in excellent condition and all original to the knife. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep & centered in the well, good snap, guards fly into position, and very good lockup with less than 1/16" up and down at the tip. Does not rattle if shaken when blade is open except for the guards. Safety works. VG condition.
