Vintage Presto Hunter switchblade with brain wormgroove (brown, cream & tan) synthetic scales made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It was designated the model 2000 and was the largest switchblade made by the company. This knife measures 5 inches closed and 8 11/16 inches open with steel liners, bolsters and nickel silver button and safety. The blade is 97% full with some light scratches, light pitting and patina. The tang is stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T CONN on the rear tang. The synthetic scales are commonly referred to as wormgroove and this color combo is often referred to as "brain" color (mix of browns, reds, tans, whites, etc) and are in excellent condition. This knife functions well with the blade tip seating below the liners and centered closed, strong snap and fair lockup with about 3/16" up and down at the tip. Does rattle if shaken with the blade open as most of these do. Safety works. VG condition.
