PRESTO Hunter Brain Wormgroove scales Vintage Schrade automatic knife

Vintage Presto Hunter switchblade with brain wormgroove (brown,cream,tan) synthetic scales made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It was designated the model 2000 and was the largest switchblade made by the company. This knife measures 5 inches closed and 8 11/16 inches open with steel liners, bolsters, button and safety. The blade is nearly full (96%) and shiny with some light scratches, light spotting and light patina. Tang is stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T CONN on the rear tang. The synthetic scales are commonly referred to as wormgroove and this color combo is often referred to as "brain" color (mix of browns, reds, tans, whites, etc) and are in excellent condition. This knife functions great with the blade tip seating deep and centered in the well, strong snap and good lockup with a little movement each way at the tip. Does rattle slightly if shaken with the blade open as most of these do. Safety works. EX condition.
