Vintage Presto Hunter switchblade with black wormgroove synthetic scales & lanyard ring made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1930 and 1940s. It was designated the model 2000 and was the largest switchblade made by the company. This knife measures 5 inches closed and 8.75 inches open with steel liners, bolsters, lanyard, button and safety. The blade is 98% full or better and shiny with some light scratches and patina. The tang is stamped PRESTO MADE IN USA on the front and GEO. SCHRADE BRIDGEPORT, CONN on the rear tang. The synthetic scales are commonly referred to as wormgroove, are black in color and are in very good condition with some handling marks and light scuffs. The knife works great with the blade tip seating even with the liners closed, strong snap and locks open with about 1/18" movement at the tip open. Does rattle if shaken with blade open as most of these do. Safety works. VG+ condition.
