Vintage Presto Hunter switchblade with black wormgroove synthetic scales made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It was designated the model 2000 and was the largest switchblade made by the company. This knife measures 5 inches closed and 8.75 inches open with steel liners, bolsters, button and safety. The clip blade is 98% full with some light scratches, patina and some spotting and tang is stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T, CONN on the rear tang. The synthetic scales are commonly referred to as wormgroove, are black in color and are in very good condition. Functions well with the blade tip seating deep & centered closed, strong snap and locks open with about 1/8" up and down and a little side to side movement at the tip. Does rattle if shaken with blade open. Safety works. VG+ condition.
