Vintage Presto Hunter switchblade with black wormgroove synthetic scales made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It was designated the model 2000 and was the largest switchblade made by the company. This knife measures 5 inches closed and 8.75 inches open with steel liners, bolsters, button and safety. The blade is full and shiny with some light scratches and a line of small pit spots on the backside. Stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO. SCHRADE BRIDGEPORT, CONN on the rear tang. The synthetic scales are commonly referred to as wormgroove, are black in color and are in excellent condition with a short shallow line cut into each side near the back (bottom) that was intentionally cut into the scales and the backspring though I don't know why. Doesn't detract much from a GREAT knife. This knife has seen very little use over the years and functions perfectly with the blade tip seating deep, strong snap and great lockup. Safety works. EX+ condition.
