PRESTO Hunter #2000 Firebrick Wormgroove scales Vintage Schrade automatic knife

Vintage Presto Hunter switchblade knife with Firebrick wormgroove synthetic scales made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It was designated the model 2000 and was the largest switchblade made by the company. This knife measures 5 inches closed and 8 3/4 inches open with steel liners and bolsters with nickel silver button and safety. The beautiful clip blade is 100% full with all of the original finish intact and the tang is stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T CONN on the rear. The synthetic scales are commonly referred to as wormgroove because of the pattern and this color combo is often referred to as "brain" color (mix of browns, reds, tans, whites, etc) and sometimes called Firebrick red and are in excellent condition. This knife functions great with the blade tip seating deep and centered in the well, strong snap and excellent lockup with only a hint movement at the tip, just as it left the factory. No rattle if shaken with the blade open. Safety works. Near Mint condition.
