Vintage PRESTO Fishtail #6000 Tortoise celluloid automatic knife made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT in the 1940s. This is an actual knife that will be pictured in the upcoming book Antique American Switchblades 2 and comes with a laminated Certificate of Authenticity. This is one of 7 knives that were made up from frames with blades that came from the Geo Schrade factory auction as factory rejects. The handles were made for the knives and safeties added to make complete knives. We have dozens more of the original frames with blades that we are offering for sale in the store as they were found years ago.

This knife measures 4 inches closed and 7 3/16 inches open with steel liners & button with nickel silver safety. The clip blade is 100% full with much of the original finish intact with some pitting from sitting for years in a box and the tang is stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO SCHRADE in an arch over B'PORT CT on the backside. The scales (handles) were hand made from tortoise celluloid and are in nice condition. The knife works well with blade tip even with the liners closed, strong snap and tight lockup. Safety works. VG+ condition. Comes with laminated Certificate of Authenticity as an actual knife pictured in the upcoming book.
