This is a PRESTO double with Tortoise celluloid scales (handles). The knife was made by the Geo Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT most likely between 1940 and 1956. It's the only size double made by the company and it measures 3 3/8" closed and 7 1/8" open with brass liners. Main blade is stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA and the small blade is stamped G SCHRADE in an arch over B'PORT CT. The blades are mostly full and shiny with some of the original factory finish. The tortoise celluloid scales are very attractive, but there is some internal cracking in small spots on both scales and some handling marks. The knife works well with both tips at, or below the liners when closed, Good snap, open fully with no kickback and good lockup with very little movement. Both safeties work. Nice example of a vintage American PRESTO double switchblade.
