Presto Derby Scout switchblade with synthetic wormgroove brain scales made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It was designated the model 1500 which was the second largest size switchblade made by the company. This knife measures 4 1/8 inches closed and 7 1/8 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters, button and safety. The blade is 100% full and gorgeous with all of the original factory finish, a really beautiful blade. The tang is stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T, CONN on the reverse. The multi colored synthetic wormgroove scales are very attractive and the coloring is often referred to as "brain". This knife functions great with the blade tip seating deep, strong snap and tight lockup open! Does not rattle if shaken with blade open. This is a Super nice example of a harder-to-find PRESTO Derby guard scout. Safety works. EX++ condition.
