Presto Derby Hunter switchblade with synthetic wormgroove brain scales made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1940 and 1956. It was designated the model 3500 which was the largest size switchblade made by the company. This knife measures 5 inches closed and 8.75 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters, button and safety. The blade is 100% full and gorgeous with all of the original factory finish and some light spotting, really beautiful blade. The tang is stamped PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA on the front and GEO SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T, CONN on the reverse. The knife has original copper beryllium spring. The multi colored synthetic wormgroove scales are very attractive. This knife functions great with the blade tip seating deep, strong snap and excellent lockup open! Does not rattle if shaken with blade open. This is a Super nice example of a harder-to-find PRESTO Derby guard. Safety works. EX++ condition.
