Press Button Knife Co VICTOR picked bone antique switchblade knife
Press Button Knife Co VICTOR picked bone antique switchblade knife
This is an antique switchblade made by the Press Button Knife Co a division of the Walden Knife Co of Walden, NY sometime before 1923. This model was called "The VICTOR" and is the largest model with folding guards. It's the same size as the more common Invincible model measuring 4 7/8 inches closed and 8 3/4 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters and folding guards. The clip blade is about 90% full and 3/8" short with some light patina and spotting. Overall a decent blade that is marked PRESS BUTTON KNIFE CO WALDEN NY on the front tang and US PAT 470605 on the rear. The picked bone scales are very attractive and in great condition with no cracks or chips. The knife works great with blade tip just above the liners when closed (slight peek), good snap and locks open with about 3/16 in up and down and some side to side movement at the tip. Rattles if shaken with blade open as most of these 100+ year old large switchblades do. VG+ condition.
