Press Button Knife Co medium double Candystripe antique automatic knife

Antique Press Button Knife Co medium double Candystripe automatic knife made in Walden, NY sometime before 1923. The handles (scales) have been professionally replaced and are not original to the knife. It measures 3 3/8 inches closed and 6 5/8 inches with both blades open and has brass liners and nickel silver buttons. It is a spear/pen blade combo and both blades have been lightly cleaned and have some loss from sharpening (95% full or better). Both blades are stamped PRESS BUTTON KNIFE CO WALDEN NY on the front and both have US PAT 470605 stamped on the backside, but the stamps are weak and hard to read. The Candystripe celluloid handles are not original to the knife, but are in great condition and look very nice. The knife works and both blades open fully with kickback so you have to push them back to full open and then they lock. This knife has a quirk where you have to close the large blade with the small blade open, otherwise catches on the spring. Small blade can work independently. Spring has been replaced also and is just a hair long which is why it can catch when the large blade is being closed. Also works best if you use your thumbnail to press the buttons, which is true for most old Press Button Knife Co knives. Very good lockup open. VG+ condition.
