This is a Press Button Knife Co medium double with black synthetic handles (scales). Black is one of the less common scale colors for this knife. The knife was made in Walden, NY sometime between 1892 and 1923. It was designated the model #107 and measures 3 3/8" closed and 6 13/16 inches with both blades open. It is the middle one of three sizes of switchblade doubles made by the company. The blades are both mostly full with patina and some spotting. Both blades are marked PRESS BUTTON KNIFE CO WALDEN NY. There are no patent numbers which means it was likely made between 1913 and 1923. The smooth black scales are in good condition with no cracks, but show a lot of handling marks from 100 years of use. The knife works great with both blade tips below the liners closed, good snap and fair lockup with some wiggle on each. Kickback on large blade. Good overall condition. The leather purse looks to be original to the knife and though they didn't usually come with a purse, they were often purchased at the same time. Nice old PBKC double with a leather purse.
