This is a Press Button Knife Co INVINCIBLE model switchblade made in Walden, NY sometime between 1900 and 1923. The knife measures 4 7/8 inches closed and 8 1/2 inches open with picked bone scales and steel liners. The blade tang was originally marked PRESS BUTTON KNIFE CO WALDEN, NY, but very little of the original stamp is visible due to pitting and use. The backside has US PAT 470605. The blade has been used and sharpened over the years and is approx 90% full and has been lightly cleaned with wear, light scratches and light pitting on the blade. The picked bone scales are in excellent condition with no cracks. The knife functions well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, opens strong when button pressed and good lockup with some movement each way at the tip. Does rattle if shaken when open as most of these 100+ year old switchblades do if they've been used.
