Press Button Knife Co Business Clip blade picked bone switchblade knife

Antique Press Button Knife Co Business model clip blade picked bone switchblade knife. This one was made in Walden, NY sometime between 1912 and 1923 and was designated the model #510. It measures 4 1/8" closed and 6.5 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters and button. The clip blade has loss from sharpening and is about 85% full, 3/8" short and mostly shiny, which is actually pretty good for one of these 100+ year old PBKC Business models since most were heavily used, sharpened and carried because of the convenient size. Blade stamped PRESS BUTTON KNIFE CO WALDEN NY on the front and back tang is blank. The blade was originally acid etched BUSINESS, but the etches were fragile and easily worn off with use. The picked bone scales are in excellent condition. The knife works well with the blade tip just above the liners when closed, opens strong and good lockup with about 1/16" up and down and a little side to side movement at the tip open. It does rattle if shaken with the blade open as most do after 100 years. VG+ condition
