PRESS BUTTON KNIFE CO #1005 the VICTOR Antique switchblade knife made by the Press Button Knife Co a division of the Walden Knife Co of Walden, NY sometime before 1923. This model was called "THE VICTOR" and the knife still retains most of the original fragile acid etch face of the blade, which is rare. You can clearly read VICTOR and part of THE. This is the largest model that they made, the same size as the more common Invincible model (without guards) and it measures 4 7/8 inches closed and 8 5/8 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters, button and folding guards. The clip blade is 98% full or better and shiny with some light scratches & light patina and is about 1/8 inch short and the tang is marked PRESS BUTTON KNIFE CO WALDEN NY on the front of the tang and the reverse is blank. The dyed jigged bone scales are very attractive and in excellent condition. The knife works great with blade tip well below the liners closed, Strong snap and very good lockup with about 1/16" movement each way at the tip, or less. Barely rattles if shaken with blade open except for the guards. EX condition.
