Press Button Knife Co #1000 INVINCIBLE antique switchblade knife good etch

Vintage Press Button Knife Co INVINCIBLE model switchblade made in Walden, NY sometime between 1892 and 1923. The knife measures 4 7/8 inches closed and 8 11/16 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters & button. The clip blade is stamped PRESS BUTTON KNIFE CO WALDEN, NY on the tang and the backside is blank. The blade is mostly full at about 98% with most of the original finish with lots of light scratches & a couple of rust spots on the front of the blade. You can clearly/easily read the original INVINCIBLE blade etch! and the decorative designs on both ends of the word, but one of the rust spots is over the top of the "I" and also the "L" as you can see in the pics. The jigged bone scales are gorgeous and in great condition. There are some scuffs on the front bolster, but not bad. The knife functions well with the blade tip even with the liners closed, opens strong when button pressed and locks open with about 1/8" up and down and little side to side. It does rattle if shaken with the blade open as most of these do. This is a nice working example of a 100+ year old American made switchblade with a strong etch! VG+ condition. In mint condition these knives sell for $2500 or more.
