This knife was made by the Flylock Knife Co, a division of Challenge Cutlery Corp of Bridgeport, CT in the late 1920s. It's the larger size of the two bladed switchblades that the company made measuring 3 3/8" closed. The knife has two blades, each is activated by sliding an oval button, one on each side of the knife. Both blades stamped FLYLOCK KNIFE CO REG US PAT OFF on the front. FLY LOCK KNIFE CO B'PORT CONN on the rear of the big blade and US PAT MARCH 5, 1918 on the back of the small blade. The scales (handles) are celluloid and are a very attractive combination of colors including green, black, cream and orange. The blades are mostly full with patina, light scratches and some peppering. The knife functions well with no peek when closed. Blades open as they should with good average lockup when open. German silver tip bolsters are a nice feature on this beautiful old American switchblade.
