No 6 SHEFFIELD STEEL 28cm Indian Shell puller lever Brass & Horn automatic knife made in India sometime between 1930 & 1960s using stampings copied from English knives that they had seen. This knife has shell pullers built into the bolsters supposedly for extracting shotgun shells from old shotguns, but I don't think these are actually functional, just decorative on this knife. It measures 27.7cm (10 7/8 inches) open and 5 15/16 inches closed (not counting the pullers) with steel liners and brass bolsters, lever & pins. The spear point blade is 98% full, or better with light scratches & pitting and says SHEFFIELD STEEL on the face of the blade with No 6 SHEFFIELD STEEL stamped on the tang. The horn scales (handles) are in very good condition with a couple of minor repairs and a few dings from handling/use. The knife works well with blade tip deep in the well closed, good snap and good lockup with about 1/8" up and down at the tip that springs back. Does not rattle when shaken open except for the lever being a little loose. These are kinda crudely finished, but cool old knives. VG condition.
